A TASTE TEST OF THE
Power to Parent I — The Vital Connection
Scheduled Class

with
Gordon Neufeld and Heather Ferguson

About this event

Our next Scheduled Class of the 'Power to Parent I — The Vital Connection' begins on January 13th, and to help individuals discern whether this is the right fit for them, we’ve invited Gordon Neufeld and faculty member Heather Ferguson to host a special “Taste Test” session. This event is designed to honour people’s time and allow potential students to self-select what best suits their learning journey. Heather, who leads the faculty support for this course, will interview Gordon about what has changed since the course was last re-filmed in 2011, and together they’ll respond to questions from prospective participants about what to expect in the program.

This 8-session course is one of our oldest courses and for a time, was our only one. First filmed in 2006, the year the Neufeld Institute began, it is the most fitting course to feature in the year of our 20th anniversary. It has been revitalized (pardon the pun) several times, but when Gordon was asked if he wanted to update it again, after reviewing it, he couldn't think of anything that we would want to say differently, only more emphatically. The Vital Connection was our training course for hundreds of course facilitators, and for good reason. We believe the content is not only timeless but more relevant than ever. We invite you to take a taste.

Power to Parent I — The Vital Connection

Starts January 13, 2026

Tuesdays 10:00AM – 11:00AM PT

Runs for 8 weeks

$250 CAD

In this flagship course of our Power to Parent series, Neufeld reveals that the keys to ease and effectiveness in parenting lies in the nature of the child's attachment to the parent, regardless of the age of the child. The course explores how this relationship is meant to develop, what can go wrong, why parents must matter more than peers, how to cultivate a context of connection, how to win back one's child if need be, and much more.
