Resources

At the Neufeld Institute, our primary mission is to make sense of children through the lens of attachment-based developmental science. We do this mainly through our 30+ courses and a wide range of scheduled classes, which provide in-depth, guided learning for parents, educators, and helping professionals.

On this page you’ll find a range of materials created by Dr. Gordon Neufeld and the Neufeld Institute faculty — from free resources we offer as a gift, to books, and recordings that help sustain our work.

Free resources

Alongside our courses and recordings, we also offer a collection of free resources — study guides, lectures, and webinars featuring Dr. Gordon Neufeld and faculty. These materials are not comprehensive courses or event archives, but selected offerings we believe are too important to keep behind a paywall. They serve as accessible entry points into the Neufeld approach, providing parents, educators, and professionals with meaningful insights into children, emotions, and development.

Books by Gordon Neufeld and the Neufeld Institute Faculty

Explore the written works that bring the Neufeld approach to life.

From the best-selling Hold On to Your Kids to books by Neufeld Institute faculty, these resources offer insight, guidance, and an attachment-based developmental lens for understanding children—and ourselves.

Neufeld Institute Recordings

In addition to our structured courses, we also offer recordings of keynotes, webinars, and special presentations — shorter, topic-focused sessions that allow you to explore specific issues or revisit highlights from our conferences and events. These recordings are not designed as comprehensive courses, but as stand-alone opportunities to gain fresh insight, deepen understanding, or spark reflection on particular themes in child development, parenting, education, and emotional well-being.

Neufeld Institute IDEA Centre for Educators

The IDEA Centre is an initiative of the Neufeld Institute and sanctioned by Dr. Gordon Neufeld. It exists to bring together educators interested in how developmental science can be applied by those caring for children and youth in a variety of settings. We are committed to supporting educators in lighting up the hearts and minds of children and youth everywhere. From theory and insight to what it looks like brought to life in your learning community, we are here to help you find the best practices that can support all children in reaching their full potential.

Neufeld Scientific Research Centre

The Neufeld Scientific Research Centre, was created to highlight and share the growing body of research supporting the relational developmental approach. Here we gather and organize published studies on topics central to this paradigm, making the science more accessible to academics, professionals, and students alike. Our aim is to inspire new research initiatives and foster ongoing scholarly dialogue around the attachment-based developmental model advanced by Dr. Gordon Neufeld and the Neufeld Institute.
