The French language program has a long history going back to the beginning of the Neufeld Institute as many of the courses were recorded while Dr. Neufeld was presenting in Quebec with simultaneous French translation. The program is supported by a French translation of Hold On To Your Kids and now has its own faculty and campus, delivering many of the most pivotal Neufeld Institute courses online. This program began with its focus being educators and troubled students but has spread its reach to all adults involved with children.

Mathieu Lyons, Social Worker & Academic
Mathieu is a powerhouse of energy in his mission to forward the Neufeld approach into the French language. Mathieu brings many talents to this directorship, including his gifted teaching abilities, technical proclivities, organization flair and natural leadership. He worked within the child and family mental health field for ten years before becoming a College Instructor in the field of child and youth services. In addition to his therapeutic work and college teaching, he is also the sole parent of two young children.

Dans le monde d'aujourd'hui, le rôle de parent est de plus en plus difficile. Nous nous heurtons à une concurrence insidieuse qui menace d'éloigner nos enfants de nous et, simultanément, nous nous éloignons de notre rôle parental. Nous ne disposons plus de la base économique et sociale qui permet à une culture de soutenir les parents et de considérer leur mission comme sacrée. En fait, pour être de bons parents dans le monde d'aujourd'hui, nous devons avant tout identifier ce qui cloche dans l'éducation de nos enfants et de nos adolescents. Cette prise de conscience nous aidera à relever un défi crucial: établir avec nos enfants des relations dans lesquelles nous prendrons l'initiative de les guider sans recourir à la coercition ni aux sanctions artificielles. C'est dans le cadre de cette relation que nos enfants pourront se développer et devenir des êtres motivés, autonomes, conscients de leur valeur et respectueux des sentiments, des droits et de la dignité de leurs semblables.
